Dr. Jin Kim

About 

Dr. Jin Kim is a graduate of the University of Sydney, Australia, and received specialty training in periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He is dual board-certified by the American Board of Periodontology and the American Board of Oral Implantology, a rare distinction. Dr. Kim also holds advanced degrees in pathology, public health, and oral biology. Before beginning his career in periodontics, he spent nine years in general practice and academia in Australia, Korea, and California.


Dr. Kim maintains private practices in Diamond Bar and West Garden Grove, California. He is also a lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry and a sought-after international speaker. He has presented at national and international meetings including the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), European Federation of Periodontology (EuroPerio), International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), National Institutes of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), as well as numerous universities worldwide.


His research has been published in respected journals such as the Journal of Periodontology, Annals of Periodontology, and the Journal of Dental Research. He has also contributed to textbooks and translated Dr. Arun Garg’s implant textbook into Korean. Dr. Kim serves as a consultant to multiple dental implant companies and a U.S. surgical device manufacturer.


Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kim is married to Dr. Connie Kyung Choi, a general dentist trained at USC. They are the proud parents of three sons—Justin, Stanley, and Cameron. He is active in the Boy Scouts community, having served as Cub Master and currently as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Fullerton, California.
